trust

If I had to pick one character trait that is the most important to me it would be honesty. Usually if I catch someone lying to me once that person is discredited for me forever and would have very hard time to gain my trust again. Honesty is my most important principle of life. And I stick to it. I tell the most horrible truth rather than a white lie. I do however sometimes lie by omission. I'm guilty of that and I rather avoid answering a question if I know that the answer might hurt someone. But once pushed I will blabber the truth and create an uncomfortable situation. Since I assume that ppl tell the truth I'm easy to manipulate and scam. Every new person in my life gets full trust until they lose it. This totally opposite to my partner who distrusts everyone and you need to slowly gain her trust over time. Probably that's why I hate scammers that much as I need to artificially turn off my trust and think critically about what I'm being told and I just want to trust...

suspicious people

Some stories are more crazy than others. This one is about people perception and how they project their way of thinking on others assuming that everyone is like them. On the weekend I went to the city with my daughter and her friend to wander around. A family friend (whom we spent countless holidays and Christmas with) saw me in a shop browsing clothing. She left the shop pretending not to see me. This is in itself a bit odd but I can understand that people may not want to talk to me and prefer to be on their way. Fair enough, I'm not an entertaining fellow. The actual reality of the situation is much more insane. She sent a text message to my partner subtly implying that she saw someone like me and that she left the shop as she thought I might be having an affair and was there with my new girlfriend...  right, what? is this your first thought when you meet someone in a shop? congratulation on your integrity. This really tells me who you are. What hurts that people have this kind o...

the socks

Every now and then I get confronted with something that is really hard for me to understand. Some things are more ridiculous than others but this is probably one of the most "interesting" ones. To put things into perspective we have two pets with lightly coloured coats and they shed their fur all over the house. I got used to it over the years as this is part of having pets. Anyway my partner approached me with a solution. She got fed up with dealing with fur on DARK clothes. Her problem is that even after washing there were visible hairs on the cloths. What could the solution to this problem be? Maybe vacuum more than once every two weeks? Apparently there is a better solution. Replace all my black socks with white ones. That way the dark washing will not be contaminated with what I collect on my socks during the day. Another option would be for me to wear slippers or house-shoes. When I replied that first of all I do not like white socks (I wear mostly dark clothes and shoe...
